February 2010 Neighborhood Watch Letter

February 1st, 2010

NWFeb2010.pdf Hi Neighbors,

Attached is the Wildwood Precinct’s Neighborhood Watch Letter from Officer Wood. There is an opportunity for signing up for a Citizen’s Academy mentioned in the newsletter which I’d like to encourage. I went through the academy several years ago and found it helpful.

There are also CERT(Citizen Emergency Response Training)classes which are offered by the police departments which develop skills to deal with emergency situations in ones community, also. Let me know if you’re interested and I can direct you to some upcoming classes.

Have a great week!

image001.wmz image002.wmz Hi everyone! I will be hosting this month’s Bunco.

Here is all the important information.

Where: BethAnne Pardue’s - 17449 Radcliffe Place Drive

When: Wednesday, October 28th from 7-9 pm

What: BUNCO & Silpada - We will have our usual Bunco game while surrounded by Bling! My friend Debbie will have all of her beautiful Silpada jewelry on hand for us to look at while we try to win at Bunco.

Bring: Bring an appetizer or wine. Our theme is Halloween, so bring something festive! Feel free to wear your witchiest hat. (Best hat will get a prize!) Don’t forget your checkbook in case you find some nice bling to take home with you! Bunco is $2.00 to play.

Please RSVP to me by Monday, October 19th to let me know if you can come. If you can come, please let me know what you would like to bring.

If you just want to look at the jewelry, feel free just to stop by between 7 & 9 - if you just want to try to win playing Bunco, that’s fine too. or just come by to meet your neighbors! It’s a good way to meet our newest neighbors and the older ones too!

St Louis County Police Newsletter

September 25th, 2009

BrochureRitalin.pdf NWSep09.pdf Hi Neighbors,

Attached is the September Neighborhood Watch Letter from Officer Wolff and a brochure about Ritalin abuse. The newsletter contains information about texting while driving, social networking sites and dealing with solicitors. Wildwood does require a permit for solicitors which they should be able to produce.

At the last Neighborhood Watch Coordinators meeting at the police station, Officers Wolff and Wood both commented that the use of methamphetamine is way down now due to the difficulty getting the ingredients, but that heroin is now the drug of choice among hard drug users. Alcohol and marijuana are still the most prevalent.

As you know, the burgler who broke into garages in our neighborhood has been caught and some of the items stolen have been returned to owners. The police are trying to retrieve other stolen items from pawn shops, etc. Please remember to close your garage doors at night and lock all cars. Don’t leave anything valuable in the cars. A neighbor has also suggested that alarms can be placed on garage doors just like they can be placed on houses.

Please remember to report any suspicious cars or activity to the Wildwood Police at 636-458-9194.
